Bible Survey Overview
The Great Commission mandates the teaching of all that Christ has commanded (Mt 28:19-20) and the proclamation of the Gospel to the whole creation (Mk 16,15). Paul‘s emphatic prayer request, before he prays for his own well-being, is that the Word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified (2Thess 3,1). God in his grace has given us a mission in Europe in spreading his Word to many countries and preaching and teaching the Gospel for the glory of God.
The beginnings of the program
This opportunity is our Bible Survey program. It began as a distinctly German-speaking program for all believers – men and women, young and old. In this foundation year, students would read through the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. In class, the teachers would then go through each book in depth. This laid out the foundation for future study and increased the students‘ biblical literacy and maturity, as well as giving them practical theological guidance.
Progress and growth
This course spread throughout Germany, Switzerland, and Austria with over 400 yearly students. This is an amazing number when you consider that 1000 Bibles were read in this course alone in largely secular Germany. Then the course was offered online and then directly in the local church context. There are now 30 churches teaching these classes directly to their members, supported by our online platform and video lectures. We now have about 550 additional students reading their Bibles yearly in the local church context.
This route of online availability is a great blessing, equipping the individual believer for life and ministry, rather than being tied to a regional school or seminary. It also brings the teaching of God‘s Word back to the local church and provides a support to those churches until the classes can be taught completely independently. By God‘s grace we are experiencing great growth, and our work won‘t stop, because God‘s work is unstoppable.
Through advanced technologies it is easy to implement our Bible Survey program as an online platform – now even to the Arab world. Here the greatest effort and cost is spent on translation, setup and the first-year teachers. This opens unique opportunities for you to move much with little means. This also means, that your partnership could result in the founding of a completely new training center.
How you can participate
Commit yourself as a person and as a church in prayer and financial support and be involved in the founding of a Bible Survey program in one of the countries listed below. In these countries there is a great longing for the advancement of the Gospel and the training of capable men as well as women, and you could make the big difference in sponsoring the access to faithful biblical training for a whole country. The goal is also not the mere permanent financial investment in said countries, but the building up of functional, independent Bible Schools.
The goal is spiritual maturity and multiplication, with your money being the starting point of fruitful ministries in all of Europe. This maturity is achieved with a four-year plan. As the macedonian man called Paul to bring the Gospel to Europe, thus we also call for help (Acts 16,9), longing for the Gospel to spread, the church to grow and God be glorified again on this continent.
